Drop in Live Register Numbers in Nutgrove and Dun Laoghaire

I warmly welcome live register figures released by the CSO which show that the number of those signing on the live register in the Nutgrove/Rathfarnham area has dropped by 9.21% between June 2013 and June 2014. The Dun Laoghaire region has also seen a reduction in those signing on the live register of 8.61% between June 2013 and June 2014.

This is positive news. Of course we have a long way to go in tackling unemployment in South Dublin and across the country but I welcome these positive figures. These local CSO statistics chime with the drop in the unemployment rate nationally from 13.3% in June 2013 to 11.6% in June 2014.

The Labour Party’s number one priority in Government is job creation and tackling unemployment. I believe we are making steady progress in this regard.
