Interest rates at Permanent TSB to be discussed by Finance Committee
Jeremy Masding, Chief Executive of
Permanent TSB will appear before the Oireachtas Committee on Finance, Public
Expenditure & Reform today, Wednesday 18th July to discuss
the bank’s interest rate regime as well as its plans to restructure the
bank and other related financial issues.
The meeting will take place in Committee
Room 4, Leinster House 2000 at 2pm on Wednesday, 18th July 2012.

Finance Committee to meet with Central Bank to discuss measures to mitigate technical difficulties a
Representatives from the Central Bank
of Ireland’s Financial Regulation Division will come before the Committee
on Finance and the Public Service tomorrow, 4th July to discuss
safeguards in place to mitigate technical malfunctions in the Irish financial
services sector.
Tomorrow, representatives from
the Central Bank’s Financial Regulation Division will address the Committee
on the Ulster Bank situation in particular, as well as addressing the overall
systems and safeguards that are in place to deal with technical problems
across the Irish financial services sector. Committee members will have
an opportunity to question the Central Bank representatives on their interaction
with Ulster Bank, regulation of the bank, what kind of investigations it
has carried out into the issue and what lessons have been learned.”
The meeting will take place in Committee
Room 4, Leinster House 2000 at 2pm on Wednesday, 4th July.

Former AIB
internal auditor Eugene McErlean and Kenan Furlong, Partner, A&L Goodbody
will attend the meeting of the Committee on Finance, Public Expenditure and
Reform tomorrow, 12th June to discuss proposed whistle-blower
legislation.
Kenan Furlong is a partner in A&L Goodbody’s Litigation and Dispute
Resolution Department and also heads its Corporate Criminal Offences Unit with
Joe Kelly. He advises clients on managing their relationships with various
Irish regulators and the Garda Bureau of Fraud Investigation as well as foreign
investigators such as the UK's Serious Fraud Office and Financial Services
Authority.
Eugene McErlean rose to prominence as a whistleblower for his part in
highlighting overcharging of customers by his former employer.
The meeting
will take place in Committee Room 2, Leinster House 2000 at 2pm on Tuesday 12th
June.
