GAEL-CHOLÁISTE AN PHIARSAIGH SECURES NEW HOME AT LORETO ABBEY ON THE GRANGE ROAD

Minister Alex White, Labour TD for Dublin South, has welcomed the announcement that Gael-Choláiste an Phiarsaigh has a new, permanent home.

“Gael-Choláiste an Phiarsaigh is an Irish speaking secondary school that will officially open in September 2014.

“I’m delighted with the news that the Department of Education has purchased Loreto Abbey on the Grange Road, which will operate as a permanent home for the Gael-Choláiste from September 2014 onwards.

“I’d like to congratulate the pupils and parents who have worked so hard for the establishment of a second level Irish speaking school in Dublin South. I’m delighted that students will now have the opportunity to learn through the medium of Irish at post-primary level. It’s important that pupils and parents have this choice available to them.

“I’d also like to commend Minister Ruairí Quinn and the Department of Education for the purchase of the grounds at Loreto Abbey.

“Comhghairdeas libh go léir.”
