REFERENDUM IS A TRULY DECISIVE MOMENT FOR IRELAND IN EUROPE: WHITE
Labour T.D., Alex White, welcomes the decision of the government to hold a referendum on the Fiscal Compact Treaty.
Speaking at the conclusion of an inter-parliamentary committee meeting in Brussels where he represented, as chairman, the Oireachtas Joint Committee on Finance, Public Expenditure and Reform, Deputy White said, “This is a truly decisive moment for Ireland in Europe: do we join others in addressing the flaws in the Euro currency or do we go our own uncertain way? I say we opt for solidarity, while pressing for growth and investment.
“Those who say ‘no’ should level with the Irish people on where they want the country to go, and how.”
